Conax, part of the Kudelski Group, plans to demonstrate the new multi-DRM capabilities of its Conax Contego, this week at CommunicAsia. Conax unveiled the new features at NAB earlier this year (see "Conax to Demo Multi-DRM in Vegas").
Conax Contego supports Widevine, Microsoft PlayReady, Conax OTT Access, and NAGRA PRM, with CENC and MPEG Dash (see, for example, "ARRIS, Conax to Demo DASH, Multi-DRM"). It also solves challenges related to the fact that plug-ins based on NPAPI will soon be phased out in widely used browsers, such as Chrome, the company says.
The solution also supports Encrypted Media Extensions and HTML5 video, which the company says helps to simplify content protection to TV anywhere and multiple devices.
At the show, Conax also will highlight its pre-integrated Xtend Multiscreen and entry-level GO Live solution for secure streaming of live channels to iOS and Android devices.
