The M3 is for troubleshooting hard-to-find leakage sources and to qualify the shielding integrity of isolated cable plant. The portable device injects a uniquely identifiable test signal into strategic portions of the cable plant. This signal exaggerates shielding integrity flaws and can be detected using any of ComSonics' QAM line of handheld leakage detection devices, including QAM Sniffer, QAM Compass, and QAM Shadow.
The M3 offers single-button operation and six power and frequency setting combinations. There are three preprogrammed frequency bands and two preprogrammed power settings. Available frequency settings include VHF; 138-139 MHz, UHF; 606-614 MHz, UHF; and 720 MHz-1 GHz.
