Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) is launching a new lab intended to support and help advance the OpenDaylight community, to help software defined networking (SDN) developers integrate, test and verify their applications in an OpenDaylight ecosystem. The lab is at Ericsson's campus in San Jose, CA.

Ericsson is a founding Platinum sponsor of the OpenDaylight Project and is collaborating with other project members to develop the OpenDaylight SDN and NFV platform, including an open source software release named Hydrogen. Ericsson will run the new lab in collaboration with the OpenDaylight Project. The lab opened in conjunction with the inaugural OpenDaylight Summit on Feb. 4-5.
