The SCTE announced the formation of a working group to advance planning for and deployment of IPv6 across cable networks.

The IPv6 Deployment Working Group is intended to bring together cable engineers, engineering managers and other thought leaders from the cable operator, hardware and software communities to share information and best practices on device management and service enablement in an IPv6 environment. The group will address the impact of IPv6 on management of DOCSIS devices; service enablement; voice and video services; and other topic areas.

Initial members include ARRIS, Bright House Networks, Comcast, D-Link, Rogers Communications and Time Warner Cable. The working Group is open to all SCTE members. More information is available at http://www.scte.org/areas_of_interest/ipv6.aspx.
