Described as a "great tool in the tool kit of local video production" by one Diamonds judge, the Nimbra VA 210 video appliance is designed to improve quality of service over unmanaged IP first-mile connections.
The Nimbra VA 210, an honorable mention designee, combines content-aware forward error correction, selective retransmission over managed and unmanaged IP infrastructures, and clock synchronization. This produces reliable quality of service, while UDP streaming and MPEG transport stream-aware data recovery make the Nimbra VA 210 capable of broadcast-quality transport over unmanaged IP first-mile connections.Additionally, the Nimbra VA 210 can be used for main feed backup and disaster recovery. If a satellite reception system fails, for example, a lab antenna can be pointed to receive the failed channel, which can then be transmitted over the Internet.www.netinsight.netSee them at Cable-Tec Expo, Booth 1010Return to the BTR Diamond Technology Reviews Elite.
