Cable ONE (NYSE:CABO) has launched its GigaONE gigabit Internet service in Sioux City, IA.

The company first started publicly talking gigabit last August and formally announced its plans last November. The company intends to have the DOCSIS 3.0-based 1 Gbps service available across the majority of its markets by the end of 2016. So far, it's been deployed in two Arizona markets and most recently in the neighboring cities of Fargo, ND, and Moorhead, MN. Cable ONE is also building an FTTH network in a residential development in Mississippi.

The company, which was spun off from Graham Holdings last July, says it has invested more than $500 million on network upgrades over the last five years. In 2015, Cable ONE upgraded its networks in the Gulf Coast area; Prescott, AZ; and Fargo, ND.
