Ciena's 6500 Reconfigurable Line System (RLS) enables cable operators to evolve their networks from analog HFC into modern, optical infrastructures with higher capacity connectivity. Cable operators need a greater level of scale from the photonic line system, and the 6500 RLS offers the ability to add/drop hundreds of wavelengths and interconnect a large number of fibers within a single node. With its compact, modular and highly dense architecture, engineers can deploy the 6500 RLS into space-constrained environments. It can be deployed in 1RU, 2RU or 4RU configurations to minimize space and reduce ongoing operational costs.
