Vecima reveals Charter as new Remote PHY customer

Charter will use elements of Vecima’s Entra Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) portfolio, particularly ERM3 Remote PHY Devices as part of its DAA and 10G rollout effort.

Vecima Networks Inc. (TSX: VCM) has revealed that Charter Communications, Inc. is the “Major Tier 1 US Service Provider” to which it referred in its recent customer announcement (see “Vecima touts Remote PHY win with U.S. Tier 1 MSO”). Charter will use elements of Vecima’s Entra Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) portfolio, particularly ERM3 Remote PHY Devices as part of its DAA and 10G rollout effort.

Vecima’s revelation follows word that Charter also will use Harmonic's CableOS Platform to support virtual CMTS deployments as part of the same initiative (see “Charter Communications partners with Harmonic for virtual CMTS technology”).
