New venture between Technetix and Vecima provides a flexible and scalable platform enabling Gigabit access via multiple technologies.

Technetix today announced a partnership that will combine its DBx platform with Vecima’s Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) platform.

Paul Broadhurst, Chief Executive Officer, Technetix, comments, “With a partnership providing a path to integrate Vecima’s leading DAA technology, Technetix and Vecima are even more enabled now to deliver the access solutions our customers need and provide a flexible solution to address the broader market. This further underpins our commitment to diversify our portfolio and expand our capabilities in the access space. I am delighted that we have been able to work with Vecima on developing this solution.”

Technetix says its DBx is a field upgradeable modular platform designed for migration from an amplifier to fiber deep node to R-PHY or R-MAC-PHY. Technetix says it has over 1 million DBx units embedded in broadband networks globally, all of which can be upgraded to have a R-PHY device by simply adding the Vecima compact RPD to the modular platform. Per the partners, the new venture between Technetix and Vecima provides a flexible and scalable platform enabling Gigabit access via multiple technologies.

Clay McCreery, Chief Operating Officer at Vecima, concludes, “We welcome the partnership with Technetix which, for select customers, further extends Vecima’s DAA leadership across Technetix' impressive installed base. The Vecima RPD is the most interoperable in the industry which allows operators to deploy in a multi-vendor environment. Our award-winning set of tools and monitoring systems enables streamlined operations and powerful analytics."
