Tektronix MTS4000

Mobile MPEG analyzers like the Tektronix MTS4000 are "essential" for troubleshooting audio and video transport issues in the headend, one Diamonds judge reported.
Tektronix equipped the MTS400 with the capability to diagnose 10G networks for fault isolation and root analysis. No extra IP or RF specific troubleshooting equipment is needed for network fault diagnosis. The device's integrated cross-layer fault analysis and logging takes care of it, which reduces time to insight.Timing issues in VoIP and IPTV network issues are no challenge for the MTS4000. The analyzer's "deep dive" capabilities provide an in-depth level of monitoring, which Tektronix says is greater than competitive offerings and faster, too. CaptureVu technology isolates intermittent network problems, and the Video and Audio Quality Analysis software distinguishes between network distribution impairments and compression artifacts.MPEG analytical capabilities make the MTS4000 adept at troubleshooting over-compression, by detecting blockiness and measuring the broadcast program and the ingest distribution feed; interoperability, by identifying non-compliance issues and abnormal reactions to specific programming by TV sets and set-top boxes; transport streams, by finding the source of QoE issues; and ad insertion, by diagnosing issues in the SCTE 3516 Digital Program Insertion, Tektronix says.www.tek.comSee them at Cable-Tec EXPO, Booth 537Return to the BTR Diamond Technology Reviews Elite.
