The iVMS ASM is designed to provide end-to-end QoS and QoE monitoring for multiscreen and OTT video networks. It can aggregate and correlate data across the entire adaptive bitrate network and leverages VeriStream, the industry QoS metric specific to ABR. IneoQuest says it considers the correlation of its management systems across so many probes and performance indicators to be its trademark.
Specifically, the iVMS ASM collects statistics from the following points in the network:
- Pre-and post encoder: QoS and QoE are monitored before the ingest point and after transcoding
- Publishing across multiple origin servers
- Live sessions: QoS metrics and performance statistics offer a view of CDN health
- Content availability: Requests video assets from a specific geographic location
