TWC Extends NYC Low-Income Internet Program

Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC) and CFY have extended a partnership to bring discounted broadband access to low-income families in New York City. CFY, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students, teachers and families to harness the power of digital learning, has worked with TWC since 2010 to bring broadband Internet to more New Yorkers regardless of their social or economic status. Time Warner Cable has committed to extend its relationship with CFY to 2013.Since 2010, close to 3,000 families have applied for the discount program. In addition to low-cost or complimentary Internet services, TWC provides infrastructure support to help CFY process program applicants and one-on-one coaching from the many TWC employees who chose to volunteer for CFY.
