Thomson Trots Out Video Gear for ANGA

For the ANGA Cable Show 2012, Thomson Video Networks is offering the first European showing of the ViBE CP6000, a dedicated contribution platform; the ViBE EM4000, a multichannel HD encoder; and an IP-enabled version of the Amethyst switcher.The ViBE CP6000 is a dedicated multiformat platform for contribution of live video featuring modular implementation of MPEG-4 contribution codecs, eight HD channels per 1RU chassis, and compression. The ViBE CP6000 will be available for commercial deployments starting in June 2012.The ViBE EM4000 incorporates the Mustang 2.0 version of Thomson's compression engine within a multichannel frame. It will be available in Q2 2012.Thomson's Amethyst Switcher now has IP inputs and outputs in addition to ASI interfaces. The new-generation Amethyst III Switcher is designed for seamless switching between multiple 1+1 MPEG transport streams transported over IP networks, as well as to secure any IP stream in a headend video compression system and ensure DTV service availability. IP inputs and outputs can be managed through multiple GigE ports supporting bypass in case of power failure. The Amethyst III will be available for commercial deployments starting in June 2012.
