Elemental Gets New Chairman, Venture Capital

Elemental Technologies has appointed Kevin O'Hara as chairman of the board. The company has also raised $13 million in Series C financing led by Norwest Venture Partners.O'Hara, who joined Elemental's board last year, brings more than 25 years of experience guiding startup companies through successful growth. He is the CEO of Integra Telecom and the co-founder and former COO of Level 3 Communications."I had heard great things about the core technology from trusted industry colleagues," O'Hara said. "The target markets Elemental was going after [are] very attractive at a macro level, and I was of the belief that the whole video value chain was going to experience substantial growth as a result of the changing dynamics (OTT, mobility, etc.)."
