Virgin Media Picks SeaChange for Online, Mobile TV

Virgin Media's (www.virginmedia.com) Player, an online and mobile TV player, is live on SeaChange International's (www.schange.com) multi-screen technology and managed service infrastructure for video. Virgin Media XL TV and broadband customers can watch hundreds of hours of programming on their PCs, laptops and mobile phones.Virgin Media Player's differentiation and user experience are supported by SeaChange's open software and services including a video delivery system; managed service infrastructure; and On Demand Group content management services, including content transcoding and processing to initially provide content in nine video formats for adaptive streaming for PC and mobile.In other SeaChange news, the company's Expo booth (1639) will feature demonstrations including on-demand and broadcast TV services to mobile, PC and set-top; dynamic on-demand advertising insertion with SeaChange AdPulse software and multi-screen linear stream insertion with SeaChange's Open Solutions partner RGB Networks (www.rgbnetworks.com); HTTP Adaptive Streaming; VividLogic home media gateway; AssetFlow multi-screen asset management and preparation; and residential-based Hospitality TV System.
