SCTE Cable-Tec ExpoBooth 1421BigBand Networks (www.bigbandnet.com) is showcasing new converged edge architecture innovations in its QAM technology to meet bandwidth demands for efficient delivery of new applications and enabling services such as IPTV and timeshift TV. The technology is designed to support the cable industry's move toward a converged architecture and help cable operators prepare for the coming wave of personalized services and growth of video services to set-top boxes and IP-enabled consumer devices. The company is also highlighting its vIP PASS, a video routing solution designed to help service providers capitalize on existing infrastructure and deliver multi-screen video services via DOCSIS 3.0 modems for a time-to-market advantage. The demonstration shows delivery of IP video that leverages existing network infrastructure, letting operators extend managed video to PCs, mobile devices and game consoles.Additionally, BigBand executives are presenting technical papers on adaptive streaming for IP video delivery and MSO success stories in deploying SDV systems.
