Alca-Lu Focuses on TV Everywhere--Even in the Car

Alcatel-Lucent's (www.alcatel-lucent.com/mso) CableLabs demo included some expected things--such as how subscribers can get access to pay TV services from a variety of smartphones, PCs and an iPad tablet--and something rather unexpected: a 4G connected car.High bandwidth connectivity in a mobile environment was based on a prototype Toyota Prius developed by Alcatel-Lucent and its ngConnect partners. It incorporates video, audio, gaming, navigation, vehicle wellness, and communication and connectivity services. It features in-car passenger screens with high bandwidth connectivity between a 4G mobile environment and a cable subscriber home, delivering fast access to, and sharing of, multimedia, Internet, and automotive content between the car and home network as well as the cable TV environment.
