BendBroadband has introduced voice over IP (VoIP) business communications tool, TDS managedIP Hosted. The business service is designed to converge Internet, phone and mobile services to improve call handling and call routing. It also offers nearly 50 other unified communications (UC) features and applications.

BendBroadband parent company TDS Telecom (NYSE:TDS) has offered the product for some years, and now it's available in the BendBroadband markets of Bend. Redmond, and Sisters, Oregon.

"We are pleased to be able to offer our business customers a new solution. While the product is new to us here in Central Oregon, it's a proven technology being delivered by TDS to thousands of other businesses across the nation," said Wade Holmes, director of Engineering and Technology at TDS and BendBroadband.

Local network enhancements completed recently are allowing for the technology to be launched now.

"Over the past three years we've invested millions of dollars improving the reliability and speeds of the network in Central Oregon," said Holmes. "Now, those investments are paying off with greater internet performance and new product launches like this for our business customers."

The solution includes technology from Cisco, Polycom and Broadsoft and provides business tools such as Meet-Me conferencing, Call Center, Receptionist Client (to allow one person to answer calls from multiple locations), and Call Recordings.

TDS will manage, protect, and upgrade the managedIP Hosted system.
