Rogers Communications (TSX:RCI.A) plans to deliver gigabit Internet speeds with unlimited data usage to small business customers in Ontario with Rogers Ignite for business Gigabit. The business service Internet package will cost $199.99 a month in Ontario.
In October 2015, Rogers announced a commitment to deliver 1 Gbps speed to more than 4 million homes and businesses - the company's entire cable footprint in Ontario and Atlantic Canada - by the end of this year. As of today, Rogers Ignite for business Gigabit is available to some areas in downtown Toronto and the GTA, as well as areas in Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Newmarket, Markham, Pickering, Ajax, and Whitby. More cities and communities will be rolling out gigabit service in the coming months.
Earlier this month, Rogers announced it's expanding its Connected for Success low-income Internet adoption program, which started in Toronto in 2013, to everywhere it provides Internet service.
