Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) has announced plans to open a new customer support center in Fort Collins, CO.

The MSO plans to hire 600 new employees to provide technical product and service support to Comcast residential customers. In addition, there will be a number of leadership and support positions hired to run the day-to-day operations of the new call center.

The 80,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open within a year after upgrades to a large facility on the Hewlett Packard campus.

With the addition of the customer support center, Comcast will have more than 8,000 employees across the state, including more than 700 in Northern Colorado.

Nationwide, Comcast plans to hire more than 5,500 customer service employees in the next few years, including the new Fort Collins employees. New customer support centers are now open and operational in Albuquerque; Spokane, WA; and Tucson, AZ.
