Rogers Communications (TSX:RCI.A) says it has reached a new milestone for its Connected for Success low-income Internet adoption program with its 300th housing partner.
Launched in 2013, Connected for Success offers low-cost, Internet to subsidized tenants and members of housing partners across the Rogers cable footprint in Ontario, New Brunswick and Newfoundland. With 300 housing partners, more than 200,000 households are eligible.
"Internet access has become essential for Canadians - it's a lifeline for staying in touch with friends and family and a critical tool for school and work," said Peter King, senior director, corporate social responsibility, Rogers Communications. "These new partnerships will help us deliver high-speed Internet to even more people so they can take advantage of all the opportunities in today's digital economy."

"Digital skills and access to the Internet are essential for school, work and social connections. We are delighted to be partnering with Rogers Communications through the Connected for Success program to give families a chance to be more fully included in the social and economic life of our community," said Aaron Wallace, director of strategic planning, city of Brantford.
Eligible families can get 10 Mbps downstream, 100 GB of data, free installation, and modem rental for $9.99 per month + taxes. No contract or credit check is required upon signup.
Rogers is also participating in the government of Canada's Connecting Families initiative, which launched last month and offers the same service to eligible families who currently receive the maximum Canada Child Benefit. Connecting Families participants are randomly selected by the government of Canada to participate in the program and receive a letter from the government with an access code to sign up for the program.
