At ANGA COM in Cologne, Germany, in June, the SCTE's international arm, the International Society of Broadband Experts (ISBE), will focus on DOCSIS, moderating a panel on Full Duplex DOCSIS 3.1 and hosting a free DOCSIS 3.1 Essentials Boot Camp.
The all-day DOCSIS 3.1 boot camp will be on June 11. On June 12, Chris Bastian, senior vice president, engineering and CTO of ISBE, will moderate a panel on Full Duplex, which is intended to enable symmetrical broadband services at up to 10 Gbps.
The "FDX - Status Report and Migration Paths" panel will include:

Open to all ISBE members, the DOCSIS 3.1 Essentials Boot Camp will cover an overview of D3.1 technology and enhancements; OFDM in action; OFDMA in the upstream; D3.1 deployment considerations; and proactive network maintenance. Developed by CableLabs, the Full Duplex DOCSIS 3.1 specification is intended to improve upon the DOCSIS 3.1 standard by increasing upstream capacity; enabling symmetrical services up to 10 Gbps concurrently over existing hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) technology; and ensuring that cable operators are ready to meet future usage needs for technologies such as virtual and augmented reality.
