Blue Ridge offers 2 Gig service for both cable/HFC and PON/fiber customers

The Pennsylvania-based cable MSO announced that it will be offering its up to 2 Gig high-speed internet package to both residential and commercial customers.

Blue Ridge, a cable MSO that has been providing broadband services to communities in Pennsylvania since 1950 who started its internet service in partnership with PenTeleData in 1994, has decided it's time to virtually double its subscribers' internet speeds, with a new 2-Gigabit offering for both cable/HFC and PON/fiber customers.

The MSO announced that it will be offering its up to 2 Gig high-speed internet package to both residential and commercial customers. The new package includes speeds up to 2000x40 Mbps for cable/HFC network customers, and up to 2x2 Gig symmetrical speeds for PON/fiber network customers.

The new speed is available at a standard rate of $129.95 per month for Blue Ridge residential customers, and $299.95 per month for business customers.

Cable/HFC customers will receive up to 2000x40 Mbps (2 Gig); the DOCSIS 3.1 modem required is included with service. PON/fiber customers will receive up to 2000x2000 Mbps (2x2 Gig); the PON modem required is also included with service.

A promotional rate of $94.95 per month for residential customers and $244.95 per month for business customers is being offered for those subscribing for the operator's AutoPay and Paperless Billing services.
