GuideBuilder 5 is the latest generation of Triveni Digital's metadata generation platform. It uses an electronic program guide (EPG) generator to provide EPGs for clear-QAM tuners, DTAs, DVB-SI set-top boxes and MDU installations.
This solution will allow operators to migrate to all digital, Triveni says, because it can be used to deliver channel and guide information to customers with digital TVs that have built-in clear-QAM tuners and those with basic digital STBs. A channel number virtual alignment functionality makes channel numbers identical for customers with or without a set-top box. Operators can use the GuideBuilder 5 to manage metadata locally or remotely, which allows them to reduce equipment and maintenance costs, Trinveni says. And a web-based GUI simplifies the configuration of channel lineups, the viewing and editing of program descriptions, the set-up of email alerts and SNMP traps, and the management of user access.
