WOW! is expanding the availability of its gigabit Internet and other services in several markets, including Huntsville, AL; Parma Heights and North Ridgeville, OH; and Grosse Pointe Shores, MI. The gigabit push is expected to extend the service's availability to more than 37,000 new customer locations. Huntsville and Grosse Point Shores are expansions of previous deployments, while Parma Heights and North Ridgeville are new.

In Huntsville, WOW! residential and business services are now available to 30,000 customers, doubling the service's footprint since it was introduced in the city last October. WOW! currently offers residential and business services in the Madison, Harvest, North Huntsville and South Huntsville neighborhoods. WOW!'s gigabit service in Huntsville is based on DOCSIS 3.1. Other gigabit providers in Huntsville include AT&T (NYSE:T), Google Fiber (NASDAQ:GOOG) and Mediacom Communications.

In Ohio, WOW! residential and business services will soon be available to more than 8,200 customers in Parma Heights and more than 13,000 in North Ridgeville. Service is currently lighting up in both cities as WOW! finalizes infrastructure construction. The company expects service to be available to the entirety of both communities by the end of 2017. WOW! began construction of network infrastructure for Parma Heights in March and for North Ridgeville last August. Both deployments are based on what the company calls "fiber to the neighborhood." WOW! also offers residential and business services in Cleveland and Columbus.

In Grosse Pointe Shores, WOW! residential and business services, including gigabit, are now available to the entire community of more than 1,100 customers. WOW! began construction of fiber to the neighborhood network infrastructure for Grosse Pointe Shores last August. The company initially deployed FTTH-based gigabit service in the community last October. Elsewhere in Michigan, WOW! offers residential and business services in Detroit, Grand Rapids and greater Lansing.

"WOW! is always exploring the opportunity to bring better Internet to communities hungry for an alternative to their current provider," said Greg Argetsinger, WOW! area vice president and general manager. "With WOW!'s leading residential and business offerings and our exceptional customer service, our mission is to provide better Internet at the best possible value."
