Cox Business aims RapidScale MDaaS at remote worker productivity

Dec. 17, 2020
Cox Business says its RapidScale MDaaS allows businesses to receive more cost-effective device purchasing with fully integrated cloud services and end-user support.

RapidScale, a Cox Business company, on Dec. 7 announced the release of its Managed Device as a Service (MDaaS) platform, which offers businesses the latest devices such as laptops, Chromebooks, and tablets for a monthly price over a fixed three-year term.

Cox Business says its RapidScale MDaaS solution can be coupled with other RapidScale cloud solutions including Microsoft 365, Desktop as a Service (DaaS), and SD-WAN, providing remote workers the collaboration tools to work effectively "anytime, anywhere, and on any device." The comprehensive platform includes the operator's 24/7 RapidResponse Support for end users and accidental damage, loss, and theft protection (terms and conditions apply).

“Cox Business’ RapidScale launching a Device as a Service solution was simply the final piece of our strategy to enable our customers to work more securely from anywhere, anytime, on any device. Now our clients can worry less about IT hardware procurement, device lifecycle management, image management, endpoint device management, and other tasks,” said RapidScale General Manager Duane Barnes. “Managed Device as a Service allows us to deliver a world-class end-user computing experience for customers of all shapes and sizes.”

Following this first phase launch is the integration of Cox Business’ RapidScale’s other core solutions including Backup as a Service (BaaS), unified endpoint management (UEM), encryption services, and additional software and solutions.

“Managed Device as a Service from Cox Business’ RapidScale gives businesses a seamless experience when purchasing and managing company devices. Companies will have a more predictable budget for employee devices covering hardware and other expenses that they often don’t consider. These expenses include tech support, device wear and tear, failure, loss, and theft,” said RapidScale's Director of Product Development Duncan MacDonald. “Our service delivers all of this at one fixed monthly price, allowing businesses to allocate funds for other projects.”

Cox Business’ RapidScale also offers other cloud services, including Security as a Service (SECaaS) and Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) to help solve today’s IT challenges. All these solutions are customizable to a client’s unique business needs and include 24/7 RapidResponse Support.
