At the SCTE/ISBE Cable-Tec Expo, Vertiv, formerly Emerson Network Power, has introduced the NetSure 8100DB series of DC power distribution systems, intended to bring increased visibility and intelligent load management to telecom, data center and cable industry power infrastructure facilities. The NetSure 8100DB is designed to remotely monitor the power draw on individual breakers/fuses, identify the equipment being used and enable load shifts to protect sites from potential overload. Netsure 8100DB is globally available now.

The load management feature in the NetSure 8100DB is designed to let users monitor power performance, identify distribution inefficiencies, and adjust the location of the load to optimize the facility's power supply and avoid overload.

"Today's networks and network facilities demand the flexibility that comes with improved visibility and management capabilities, and those demands are increasing with the advent of software-defined networks," said Scott Armul, vice president and general manager, DC power and outside plant products, for Vertiv in the Americas. "These environments are more complex than ever, becoming more distributed, and requiring scalable solutions. By enabling virtual provisioning and effective load reallocation, the NetSure 8100DB can help organizations significantly reduce operating costs and minimize risk."

The NetSure 8100DB is designed to deliver up to 300-amp device monitoring; with six- and eight-panel bay sizes, it offers up to 168 breaker positions. It also features remote monitoring and management capabilities.
