ADTRAN (NASDAQ:ADTN) has launched its Gigabit Accelerator Program. The goal of the program is to provide needed resources to service providers to enable them to accelerate their delivery of 1 Gbps services, especially in rural areas. The program includes a gigabit FTTH starter kit, installation services, training, marketing support and access to gigabit community partners.

The program, designed as a one-stop source for all things gigabit, is intended for communities serviced by smaller carriers, particularly recipients of FCC Connect America Fund (CAF) and Alternative Connect America Cost Model (A-CAM) funding.

"Increasingly, access to broadband is transforming communities across the globe, but resource stumbling blocks faced by our nation's telecom service providers has slowed the momentum," said Mark Ogden, director of sales, ADTRAN. "ADTRAN's expertise and deep partner relationships can help bridge this digital divide. We believe that by approaching this challenge with the concept of a startup accelerator program, we will most effectively facilitate the best solution to accelerate gigabit rollouts here in the United States and allow all communities to harness the transformative powers of broadband."

In other ADTRAN news, the company has extended its Mosaic open software architecture with the unveiling of the ADTRAN SD-Access Accelerator, a bundle of SD-Access system integration services with customizable Residential-Central Office Re-Architected-as-a-Datacenter (R-CORD) Point of Delivery (PoD) systems.

The ADTRAN SD-Access Accelerator is intended to enable telecom and cable operators to create SD-Access based services within either a test or live environment to speed time to value, reduce cost of ownership and minimize current network disruption.
