Andrew Ip has joined Charter Communications (NASDAQ:CHTR) as senior vice president, Emerging Technology & Innovation. In his new role, Ip will lead the introduction, development and commercialization of new technology. He will report to Jim Blackley, executive vice president, Engineering & IT, and will be based out of Charter's regional offices in Denver.

Ip was most recently senior vice president and managing director at Madison Square Garden Ventures. Prior to MSG Ventures, he spent nearly five years at Cablevision where he led the teams responsible for the design and operation of the WiFi and HFC networks, as well as the Optimum Labs group. In addition, he was a partner at Meridian Advisory Group, where he was responsible for advising clients in the cable, wireless and media segments.
