Google Fiber (NASDAQ:GOOG) subsidiary Webpass has signed its first apartment community to receive Internet service in Denver. The company is currently building out its local data center stack to allow installation of point-to-point wireless radios to provide service. Internet tiers of 100, 200 or 500 Mbps and 1 Gbps will be available, starting at $60 a month.
Google Fiber bought Webpass in October. The San Francisco-based ISP uses a combination of fiber-to-the-building and point-to-point wireless to provide Internet service. Webpass, founded in 2003, has a presence in Boston, Chicago, Miami, San Diego, the San Francisco area and now Denver.
The company is looking to expand in Denver and has hired telecom and Internet veteran Roger Fitch as its local general manager.
