The Cable TV Pioneers will hold their 51st annual banquet in Denver next Oct. 17, immediately prior to the opening of SCTE/ISBE Cable-Tec Expo. The Pioneers dinner had traditionally been held in conjunction with the NCTA's Cable Show and later INTX; that show was discontinued after this year's event in Boston.

Cable TV Pioneer Chairwoman Susan Bitter Smith said: "There were many industry organizations that generously offered their venues as a kick-off for our dinner. We decided that for the 2017 banquet, SCTE/ISBE Cable-Tec Expo offered the stature, attendance and location that would serve the greatest number of our members.

Dave Fellows, Pioneer dinner chairman, added: "As cable's 'hometown,' Denver has been a hub of content, technology and operations for our industry, so it's a great place to celebrate our roots and induct the new Class of 2017. Plans are already underway to select a memorable banquet venue, and we're revving up our sponsorship packages.

"SCTE/ISBE Cable-Tec Expo's role as the industry's pre-eminent nexus for learning, innovation and deal-making is a direct result of the vision and foresight of many of the Cable TV Pioneers," said Mark Dzuban, president and CEO of SCTE/ISBE and a member of the Cable TV Pioneers. "Kicking off Expo Week with the Pioneers Banquet complements our mission of expanding the relevance of Expo to programmers, marketers, media executives and other industry professionals."
