Gigabit Internet: Altice Keeps Walking the Walk

Altice USA (Euronext:ATC) is now offering Suddenlink gigabit Internet service in Lake Havasu City, AZ, as well as Plainview and Floydada, TX. The company has also increased the speeds of other residential Internet tiers in those markets at no additional cost to customers.

The upgrades are part of Operation GigaSpeed, which Suddenlink announced in August 2014 and Altice continues to support. The project is intended to make gigabit speeds available in 90% of Suddenlink markets by the end of 2017.

The company is also upgrading residential high-speed Internet customers with current downstream speeds of 75 and 100 Mbps have to 100 and 200 Mbps, respectively, at no added charge. The standard Suddenlink residential Internet tiers in Lake Havasu City, Plainview and Floydada are now 50, 100, and 200 Mbps, along with the new gigabit service.

In Arizona, Suddenlink 1 Gbps services are now available in Flagstaff and Lake Havasu City. Texas has seen the most Suddenlink gigabit activity thus far, with the service available in nearly 20 markets in the state.

In addition to Lake Havasu City, Plainview and Floydada, since July 2015, the gigabit service has been made available in the following Suddenlink markets:

  • Arkansas: Jonesboro and Russellville
  • Arizona: Flagstaff
  • California: Mammoth Lakes
  • Louisiana: Alexandria, Bossier City, DeRidder, Lake Charles and Pineville
  • Mississippi: Greenville
  • Missouri: Nixa, Ozark and St. Joseph
  • New Mexico: Clovis and Texico
  • North Carolina: Greenville and Rocky Mount
  • Ohio: Marietta
  • Oklahoma: Enid, Muskogee, Stillwater and Wagoner
  • Texas: Abilene, Amarillo, Andrews, Big Spring, Bryan, College Station, Canyon, Farwell, Georgetown, Huntsville, Kingwood, Lubbock, Lufkin, Midland, San Angelo, Terrell, Tulia, Tyler and Victoria
  • West Virginia: Parkersburg
