Cable ONE (NYSE:CABO) has launched its GigaONE gigabit Internet service in Norfolk, NE, and has also debuted a 500 Mbps Internet tier for business services customers.

Last November, Cable ONE announced its gigabit plans, which include having the DOCSIS 3.0-based 1 Gbps service available across the majority of its markets by the end of 2016. So far, it's been deployed in two Arizona markets and most recently in Sioux City, IA, and the neighboring cities of Fargo, ND, and Moorhead, MN. Cable ONE is also building an FTTH network in a residential development in Mississippi.

Cable ONE Business' Elite Business Internet Service features 500 Mbps downstream and 50 Mbps upstream. It's intended for small-to-medium sized businesses (SMBs) and is scheduled to be available across the majority of Cable ONE Business markets by the end of the year.

"Our 500 Mbps Elite Business Internet service will support the technology needs of businesses in the communities we serve, now and in the future," said Chris Boone, senior director of business services for Cable ONE. "We are excited to be able to offer 500 Mbps Internet service to nearly 200,000 businesses in the markets we serve."

The service is currently available in Norfolk, NE, and Pocatello and Idaho Falls, ID.
