At the NAB Show in Las Vegas, Imagine Communications is showcasing products intended to ease the transition to UltraHD video and related capabilities. Show demonstrations include support for High Dynamic Range (HDR), Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) and expanded color gamut throughout its production, playout, distribution and monitoring portfolios. Imagine Communications will also showcase products that are currently supporting commercially deployed UltraHD workflows in SDI, IP and hybrid production environments.

Imagine supports a range of approaches for managing UltraHD signals, such as the Sony IP Live and intoPIX TICO mezzanine compression formats. The company is also a founding member of the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), a trade association dedicated to advancing the adoption of open standards for the transmission of video and audio over IP, as well as solutions based on those standards.

Imagine has integrated UHD and other video-quality enhancement capabilities into its production, playout and distribution platforms, including:

  • Nexio+ video servers
  • Nexio Channelbrand multichannel branding solution
  • SelenioFlex Live compression system.

In other Imagine news, the company has introduced EPIC, an operational management and orchestration platform designed to facilitate the assimilation of IT-based environments into the broadcasting realm. The first product built on the EPIC platform is the EPIC Multiviewer (EPIC MV), an operational monitoring solution. The software-based and UltraHD-ready IP multiviewer is intended for hybrid production, acquisition, origination and distribution, providing broadcasters and other media companies a single solution for SDI, IP and hybrid environments. It's powered by Imagine's Zenium media processing platform.
