Operators need to differentiate offerings based on the quality they can deliver to end-customers. ScoreCard does this by measuring the capability of the network in application categories that consumers can easily understand - web surfing, streaming video, social media, real-time gaming, uploads, downloads, and voice applications. In so doing, it also helps operators quantify what improvements would make the biggest difference to the largest number of their subscribers.
Each of the seven categories receives a letter graded score from A to F showing what experience can be expected for different applications on different networks and areas of the network. ScoreCard measures all traffic for all subscribers all the time down to sub-second sampling. Operators install a physical or virtual solution in their networks, which visualizes scores by location, subscriber type and device. This creates actionable insights on where quality issues occur and where investments can be targeted for maximum impact, Procera says.
