The speed upgrades are available throughout San Antonio, along with the communities of Alamo Heights, Boerne, Brooks City Base, Bulverde, Canyon Lake, China Grove, Cibolo, Converse, Elmendorf, Fair Oaks Ranch, Fort Sam Houston, Garden Ridge, Grey Forest, Helotes, Kelly AFB, Kirby, Lackland AFB, Leon Valley, Live Oak, Marion, New Braunfels, Randolph AFB, San Antonio, Schertz, Seguin, Selma, Shavano Park, Somerset, Universal City, Von Ormy and Windcrest.
The faster Internet speeds mark the completion of the first phase of TWC Maxx in San Antonio. Also on deck are video and network reliability upgrades.
TWC's business customers also have access to the new faster speed plans, with speed plans of 100x10, 200x20 and 300x20 as new options. These new options complement existing business Internet tiers, which also include a symmetrical, fiber-based Internet service with speeds of up to 10 Gbps.
The company also launched its WiFi network in San Antonio, with almost 5,000 hotspots in outdoor and indoor locations throughout the city. Currently, there are more than 400 outdoor hotspots in high traffic locations, with more hotspots to be added through 2015.
TWC first announced the Maxx upgrade program in January 2014 and launched it in New York City and Los Angeles shortly thereafter. Since then, the program has been expanded to a dozen TWC markets, with plans to add more over time.
