Squeezing the most performance out of your system’s available bandwidth is obviously a game-changer as the relentless crush of demand for video services accelerates. In order to meet what has become an insatiable consumer demand for video – regardless of delivery method – the key ingredient is compression. Setting the strategy for the right compression platform is critical, especially with the advent of new high-end viewing technologies like 4K and, sooner than one may think, HDR. Bandwidth costs money. And the Over-the-Top (OTT) equation adds that much more pressure on the operator to deliver.

In the above video, Dr. Giles Wilson, Head of Compression Business Line at Ericsson, shares his strategy for Ericsson’s market-play with their own compression chipsets as well as the award-winning AVP-4000, and shares his thoughts on what truly will be the game-changers in the future of video delivery across multiple devices.
