GENBAND CTO to Chair ATIS Tech Council

Fred Kemmerer, CTO of GENBAND, has been elected by the ATIS board as chairman of the ATIS Technology and Operations (TOPS) Council. The TOPS Council, a standing committee of the ATIS board of directors, is the organization's vehicle for addressing the ICT industry's technical, operational and business priorities, from end-user devices through network and application services.Kemmerer's communications technologies background includes wireless, IP and multiservice switching and routing, next-generation core networks, and broadband access. As GENBAND's CTO since 2008, he is responsible for setting the company's strategic technical direction. Prior to becoming GENBAND's CTO in 2008, Kemmerer held a range of positions at Lucent and then Alcatel-Lucent.
